George Edwards will be playing the guitar and doing caricatures.

George Edwards grew up in a family of artists – mother, father, sister, brother. The last 3 were art teachers. He attended MICA on a full scholarship and graduated ‘cum laude’. George did not have a major, but got a degree in multimedia so he could diversify with painting, printmaking, and photography, with a lot of life sculpture. His interests are diversified between traditional, detailed realism; the Surreal school; and pure abstraction. George’s first job was sketching people at Irv Finifter’s Face Place in Ocean City Maryland, where he learned to do portraits and caricatures. From then on it was a series of places for doing the face from life and photograph: Roger Webb’s studio in Lake George New York, Jinx Harris’ Art Shows in major malls from Philadelphia to New York, then his own stand at Towsontowne Centre, Harundale Mall and finally White Marsh Mall. During that time, he became a member of the Art Gallery of Fells Point where he was the top moneymaker for 5 years. Now he operates out of his studio at 58 Skipjack Court in Essex; he does a lot of traveling to events to sketch caricatures live at weddings, birthdays, etc.

It should be noted that before his career as an artist took off, George developed a fascination with guitar and it has since been a life-long endeavor; he now owns seven guitars – Gibsons, Fenders and Martins.

George prefers to be reached by email, geoedwards5@gmail.com.

George will be also be playing Steampunk Artist Maury Dickinson’s guitars.
