POSTPONED – February 12th Event

POSTPONED – we will reschedule this event to a later date.

Made by bored sailors on Nantucket Lightships in the 1820s, Nantucket Lightship baskets have been valued for their fine cane weaving and use of wood mimicking the shapes of barrels rolled on their ships.

On Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00, well-known Maryland weaver and researcher Kathi Beauchesne, demonstrates how to weave a Nantucket basket on a mold.  Join her in a continuing conversation about Nantucket baskets and their history. Try weaving if you like!
