Melinda Clark, the creative force behind Hidden Potential Transformations. She has always loved the process of “transforming” one thing into something else, seeing new potential in common or “worse- for- wear” objects and furnishings After running out of things to “transform” in her own home, she set about turning random “finds” into fanciful furnishings, décor and barware for others. Hidden Potential Transformations is the result of these flights of fancy – and a lot of paint and bling!
Mass produced things have their place, but Melinda truly believes the things that make a house “homey” are things that have history, character, and uniqueness all their own, things one cannot find in anyone else’s home and that speak to one’s own particular sense of style. Hidden Potential Transformations’ treasures are all one-of-a-kind, each with its own personality. Some are more traditional, some are more whimsical, all whisper of a past-life and a reincarnation.
A few years ago, Melinda was introduced to the traditional Japanese aesthetic of “wabi-sabi”, a world view centered on the principle of transience and imperfection. While Melinda was not aware of wabi-sabi when she started her “transformations,” she likes to think that her Hidden Potential Transformations embrace both transience and imperfection and deliver them to you in a tangible form with shine and a smile.
