Atelier Mistress

Atelier Mistress was founded by Julie Muller McCormick in 2011.  The name was inspired by the good schooner ‘Mistress’, a classic yacht owned by her and her husband. After living in Manhattan for 20 years, she moved onto ‘Mistress’ and suddenly found that her extensive and beloved collection of vintage hats, jewelry, clothing and furniture no longer fit into her lifestyle. Many items were collected, and many more inherited from her grandparents and great grandparents (as noted on some of the item’s tags!)

Having worked in the design field in NYC, where she curated contemporary design exhibitions, Julie developed a keen eye for seeking out some of the most unique treasures. She is very excited to be part of Taylor’s Collective where she’ll feature an eclectic mix of wonderful treasures, old and new.

Additionally, Julie is happy to provide contemporary design services, from interior design consultations to sourcing a specific piece of furniture. She is known for her ability to mix antiques and contemporary pieces in a seamless, elegant manner.

Aside from her passion for design, Julie was a former professional ballet dancer and founder of Annapolis Tango (www.annapolistango.com), where she continues to nurture the dancer in herself. When not dancing, she is sailing!
